There is something so divine about being a woman. Yet, it seems there are so many challenges women continue to face. While this post may not help fix everything, I do hope it sheds some light on something truly beautiful: our period.

Ask any girl and she can tell you that fateful day of when she first got her period. I don’t know about you, but I cried out for my mom because I thought I was dying. Before I knew it, she called everyone we knew and my grandma came over for an intimate moon party. We went shopping and ended the day with ice cream. But, that wasn’t even the best part. I got to skip school! It was the best day, except for the whole I thought I was dying part and everyone learning that I “became a woman.”

Anyway, I want each of us to have a better relationship with our period. I want us to honor our divinely created feminine bodies and celebrate our cycle. I advise you to really tap into what it means to you to be a woman and how your period plays a vital role in the way you show up in the world. Anyone who struggles to have a consistent or “easy” period can probably tell you how much it affects them. That’s how powerful our bodies are. When we’re out of sync with our body, there’s a likelihood that you’re also out of the sync with the world around you. The moon, the ocean, nature–we’re all connected.

I recently asked Instagram if they knew where they were in their cycle. I was quite surprised to see that out of the dozens of people who responded, half of them knew and half of them didn’t. I’ll ask you the same question, as of today, do you know where you are in your cycle? The goal is to become so acutely aware of your body that you don’t ave to consult your period tracker app. By the way, I use Ovia if you’re looking to get started.
Imagine being so in love with your feminine body that you know how to care for it and support it because you took the time getting to know it. Envision the tenderness you could show yourself if only you knew. Picture owning your feminine instead of trying to force the masculine. Visualize yourself as a powerful woman who has tapped into her innate wisdom. How would you use each phase to your advantage? The absolute best thing you can do as a woman is get to know your divine feminine.
Women are both the artist and the canvas. Talk about magic.
